Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendall Marquardt.
Hi Kendall, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started personally getting sugar hair removal in 2011 and after dropped the razor for good. Any razor burn or irritation I was experiencing before sugaring disappeared, causing my confidence to reappear! I desired a career change, and I am very passionate about the benefits of sugaring and studying skincare regimens, so in 2019 I signed up for Aesthetics school and began preparing my business plan for a sugar hair removal salon. There was a delay in my school start date, so in the interim I completed 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training. Therefore, my salon (Sugar Skin Yoga LLC) offers full-body sugar hair removal, skincare (facials, backcials, chemical peels, dermaplane), and private come-to-you group yoga classes. Sugaring, skincare, and yoga are my three favorites in achieving radiant skin and a happy body!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting my own business has been a wonderful adventure! I love learning something new every day!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My #1 service is sugar hair removal. I’m most proud of my passion and knowledge of sugaring and demonstrating the benefits in my clients. Sugaring is VERY different from waxing: whatever someone does not like about their current hair removal method, sugaring surely solves it! My one-on-one treatment for each of my clients is what sets me apart: I want to listen and give them the best possible remedy and regimen to make them feel their best!
What do you like and dislike about the city?
Austin is very diverse! My location is smack in between Austin and Dripping Springs, so I get to enjoy the benefits of living near a very large city but also experience the comfort of a small town and its community.
